Wanting to fit into an old pair of jeans, getting fitter to play with their kids and just plain old feeling better are a few reasons coach Aaron McDonald of 360 Fit in Dartmouth hears every day.
Reasons why people want to reach their health and fitness goals that is.
“It’s all about the right plan and accountability to that plan,” say’s McDonald.
“I talk to people every day that say they’ve been trying to get fit or trying to lose weight literally for years and have just never been happy with where they’re at.”
So many of us feel uncomfortable in our own skin, but we don’t know what to do about it.
Only 4 Elements to Health & Fitness Success
According to Aaron, it comes down to four core things.
- Knowing where you are today
- Knowing where you want to go and set a goal
- Having a plan you believe will take you from A to B
- Sticking to that plan until you achieve your goal.
“Anyone can get fit, get lean and get strong. I truly believe that” says McDonald.
“The issue is people don’t know what to do. They don’t know how to eat, what exercises to do and they don’t have someone helping them piece it all together and ensure they stick to it. NO wonder so many people start and stop workout programs and diets”.
Traditional gym memberships are good for a certain type of self-motivated person. “There are those people that are going to hit the gym 3, 4 even 5 times a week no matter what. It’s not the norm, most of us don’t like working so hard, sweating or have the time”.
How Personal Training Ties It All Together
Personal training isn’t something many people consider, but it covers all the basics to ensure a person’s success at whatever their health and fitness goals are.
“Here at 360, we put all new potential members through a 360° Full Body Fitness Assessment. This is a completely FREE 60-minute session we do with anyone who wants to consider our training. With each person, we take a brief health history, key measurements, BMI and blood pressure”.
“We then put you through a series of fitness tests to determine where you are, right now, TODAY”.
“From there we sit with you to discuss what your fitness goals are and what do you want to achieve”.
The answers Aaron gets from people are everything from fitting into an old pair of jeans that used to fit three years ago to getting stronger to play with their kids or just plain old feeling better.
“For many people taking a good hard look at where they’re at really puts a fire under their butt to take action, work hard and make the changes. That’s why I love doing these 360° full body fitness assessments. People have told me the truth will set you free and I see it happen every day here at 360. People working hard and making BIG changes in their life.”
Only One Body So Take Care Of It
“We only get one body and life,” says McDonald. “It’s important you take time each day to look after it, and while health and fitness may not have been a priority for you unto this point in your life, every day is a chance to turn that al around.”.
